Our family have fondly been farming the vineyards since 1920

The champagne of a family4 generations of passionate winegrowers

My great-grandfather planted his first vines on our estate in the 1920's, after the war. From then on, he started marketing his own champagne: Champagne Loriot.

Then my grandfather continued to develop the business with all his heart, before my father and mother joined the adventure also.
And this is how Champagne Loriot Père & Fils was founded.

Today it's up to me, Pierre-Etienne Loriot, to ensure continuity in our family business.

My wife Cassandra and I are committed to maintaining the same level of skills throughout the generations, while leaving land to our children - alive and fertile land.

We are 'récoltant-manipulant' which means that our wines are made with the grapes we produce at the farm, pressed on site and vinified in our cellars.
We farm our land with all the respect it deserves - its nature, its biodiversity, which are both a source of wealth for the terroir and the promise of great wines.

Our vineyards along the riverVillers-sous-Châtillon, the cradle of our family business

Villers-sous-Châtillon is a winegrower's village in the regional nature reserve of Montagne de Reims.

It is in this village that our vines blossom, on the hills of the right bank of the Marne. On this unique terroir, the vines benefit from clay-limestone soil, a south-facing position with a regular slope and an atmosphere regulated by the nearby Marne.

The fruit of our passionThe 4 Champagne grape varieties

Our vineyards are planted with Meunier, Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Petit Meslier.

These four cépages reveal the rich, varied aromas of the various cuvées of Champagne Loriot Père & Fils.

Meunier

Meunier is the grape of preference of our terroir. It is a black grape with white juice which gives wine its softness and fruit flavours, and adds body to the blend. Because it ages very well, it also makes excellent reserve wine.

Pinot Noir

Wines produced with this black grape with white juice stand out for their aromas of berries and backbone. It adds a strong structure to the blend.

Chardonnay

It is a white grape characterised by delicate aromas and floral and citrus notes.

Petit Meslier

This variety is less known in Champagne and grows well on clay-limestone soils with good exposure. Its white grapes give great finesse to the wine, as well as flavour filled with a range of aromas.
